Help and guides

Find practical guidance for searching SafeHer, managing your organisation and keeping your listing information up to date.

Find services and support

  1. Open Find services. You can search the public directory without an account.
  2. Search by service, class or location. Use the service-type and age filters to narrow the results, or choose Clear filters to start again.
  3. Open a listing to read its service descriptions, age groups, locations and contact information. Check current prices, availability and suitability directly with the organisation.
  4. Use the organisation's website or contact links to enquire or arrange a booking directly with it. SafeHer is a directory; the listed organisations provide their own services.

Under-18 users can use the public directory and appropriate support information. The separate community age restriction does not apply to directory searches.

Your account and organisations

  1. Create an account or sign in. Follow any email-confirmation instructions shown during registration.
  2. Open My Account to manage your personal details and find your organisations and services.
  3. If you manage more than one organisation, check which organisation you have selected before editing information or opening its membership details. Each organisation has its own records and membership.
  4. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot password and follow the reset email. Contact SafeHer if you cannot regain access.

List your services

  1. Sign in and select List a service. Check whether a listing already exists before creating another one.
  2. Enter the organisation details and choose the category that accurately describes it. Add the public contact information you want visitors to see.
  3. Add the services or classes you offer, including their descriptions, age groups and any relevant price or booking information. Review the form before submitting it.
  4. Select Submit listing for review. Open My Listings to follow its status and read SafeHer feedback.
  5. To add another service to an existing listing, open that listing's editor and choose Add a service or class. A newly added service needs initial approval before it becomes public, even when the parent listing is already published.

Adding another service within the same organisation does not create another organisation membership fee.

Verification and publication

  1. New listings are reviewed before publication. SafeHer may ask for information or supporting evidence relevant to the organisation and its services.
  2. Check My Listings for the current status and any feedback. If changes are requested, read the reason, update the relevant information and submit it again.
  3. Verification and commercial membership are separate. An eligible commercial listing also needs the required organisation membership or an applicable approved waiver before publication.

Verification records specific checks and dates. It is not a guarantee of safety or quality. Payment does not buy verification, approval or a better search position.

Edit a listing or service

  1. Open My Listings and select the listing you are authorised to manage. Use the listing editor for shared details or the individual service editor for a particular service.
  2. Check your changes carefully before saving. Edits to an existing published listing or published service take effect immediately and are flagged for SafeHer review. The listing remains visible during that review.
  3. New listings and newly added services still require initial approval. Saving changes to an unpublished listing does not itself publish it.
  4. Read any moderation feedback and submit corrections where needed. Declining an already-live edit records feedback without automatically restoring an older version of the content.
  5. Only the organisation owner can change its logo. A permitted logo change takes effect immediately without a separate moderation approval.

Claim an existing listing

  1. Find your organisation in the directory and open its listing. If it is available to claim, select Claim this service.
  2. Sign in or create an account, then follow the claim page and select Request ownership.
  3. SafeHer checks the request against the information held for the listing. Some requests need administrator review before ownership changes.
  4. Check the confirmation and My Listings for the result. A submitted request is not confirmation that access has been granted. If the listing is already claimed or the claim period has ended, contact SafeHer.

Membership and payments

  1. Commercial membership is £9.99 per month per organisation, covering that organisation's listings and services. Separate commercial organisations have separate memberships, even when one account manages them.
  2. Eligible charities, not-for-profit organisations and government/public services list free. Choose the correct organisation category and provide the information SafeHer needs to confirm eligibility.
  3. After verification, the organisation's authorised billing manager can use the membership action shown in My Listings or the organisation page. Review the organisation and recurring charge before completing Stripe checkout.
  4. Commercial billing starts with the first successful payment. Check the membership status and payment date shown for the organisation; a checkout attempt alone does not confirm an active membership.
  5. If there is a payment issue, use Manage membership to review the existing subscription. Contact SafeHer if the status looks wrong rather than starting another membership for the same organisation.

Manage or cancel membership

  1. Sign in as an authorised billing manager and select the correct organisation in My Account or My Listings.
  2. Select Manage membership, or Manage membership and payment details, to open Stripe's customer portal. Check the subscription you are changing, particularly if you manage several organisations.
  3. Use the available subscription controls to request cancellation and review the effective end date and confirmation. Check My Listings for the updated membership status.
  4. A membership covers the organisation, so cancellation can affect its commercial listings. Each other organisation has a separate membership.
  5. Do not use deleting a service or listing as confirmation that recurring billing has stopped. Confirm the subscription status and cancellation in the portal, or contact SafeHer if you cannot access the correct membership.
